master plan was done as a reaction to the intensity of the planning and preliminary engineering of the wtc transportation hub and its surrounds.. while the violence and emotion from the events of the site are virtually know to everyone,, the turmoil from being engaged in the project also generates heavy and deep felt emotions,, which are understood in a baser,, primordial way which can manifest in a painting.

drive to power uses the familiar line to define separation between that which is an internally expressive move against the mass of that which is being moved,, or encroached into.. the two fields posses the same color or power;; but the decidedly smaller mass is more luminous as it has life and personal meaning.. the interjections into the larger mass suggests attempts to influence the larger body.. strive to power is an idea of perserverance..
